12 Days of Christmas Gift Swap- Get to know my friend Tag

12 Days of Christmas Gift Swap Friendship Tag12 Days of Christmas Gift SwapHello, all you beautiful Sun Kissed Souls.

I am excited to share something exciting with you, I have teamed up with some of South Africas lovely female bloggers to bring you the 12 Days of Christmas gift swap. I was tagged in a post on Instagram and was asked if I wanted to join this initiative.
Simon from the blog Mama to the power of 4 put this all together. Once I read what it was all about I was intrigued.

Something you may not know about me is: I love giving gifts. I love making others happy with simple acts of kindness and if I can provide you with something that can bring a smile to your face it truly warms my heart.

HOW IT WORKS-THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SWAP

So in the spirit of Christmas, I want to bring us all back to a place of kindness. A gentle reminder that we’re all on our own journey, and that we’re here for a reason. Our voices are unique, and our stories all beautiful in different ways. And like a fellow blogger so beautifully said earlier this week; “There’s enough place in the sun for us all.”

The idea behind the 12 Days of Christmas Swap is that you send the blogger you’re paired up with 12 gifts to open on the 12 days leading up to Christmas day. In return, they do the same for you.
Each blogger who joined got paired up with a partner. Each person had to buy the other blogger 12 small gifts to open up 12 days leading up to Christmas one present on each day. Read more here on Simons post.

GETTING TO KNOW MY NEW FRIEND IN THE FRIENDSHIP TAG

Today I am getting to know my partner for the 12 Days of Christma Gift swap Futhi Petronella ‘Lulu’ Sono from the blog luluspov.com Lulus point of view, a lifestyle and parenting blog. Here are 22 questions answered by Futhi to get to know her better.

1. What is your full name?

Futhi Petronella ‘Lulu’ Sono

2. Are you named after anyone?

Partly, my second name Petronella is a feminine form of the name Peter (Petros) and my father’s name was Peter so, JA I was named after him I guess.

3. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?

Growing up I really didn’t like my first name, *not sure if I do now* here is why, I always felt like it was not well thought of lol, or rather it doesn’t carry any purpose or meaning. It’s taken from the name Ntombifuthi which simply means another girl. My mom was wanting to be unique, she decided to ditch the ‘Ntombi’ part from my name and just called me Futhi. However, the meaning is still the same… Now I have learned to accept it and view it as a name that challenges who I should be, I’m not just another girl, but I’m ‘Another girl who is going to change the world’ I have added something to my name. So I wouldn’t change it but add meaning to it.

4. Where are you from?

Currently living in Durban

5. Where were you born?

Katlehong, Johannesburg

6. Where did you grow up?

Many places in Mpumalanga have a piece of me because we moved quite a lot, however; Schoemansdal is the place.

7. Do you have kids? If no, how many do you want?

Yes, I have a lovely 2-year-old daughter

8. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Yes

9. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Eyes, I believe there is some sincerity in the eyes

10. What is your eye color?

Black

11. Scary movie or happy endings?

Happy endings.

12. Do you have any special talents?

Yes I sing, and in school, I used to draw and write poetry, but then because I didn’t nurture that talent, it somehow got forgotten, hidden and about to die. I still have a love for art though.

13. Do you have any pets?

No, my hands are full

14. How tall are you?

I’m not sure, but I think I’m about 1.2m

15. How many countries have you visited?

One, I haven’t traveled much out of the country. However, I do plan to in the future.

16. What is your favorite perfume?

Perfumes are like my weakness, I have so many favorites but if right now I love the scent of Zanta by Isabella.

17. What would you name your children?

My daughter’s name is Phindumusa Joanna, not sure what I will name our next child.

18. Tell us one of your bad habits or guilty pleasures?

Leaving things to the last minute, this one bad habit I have to quit.

19. Why did you start blogging?

I wanted to have a digital notebook with content that will help inspire someone out there through my journey as a mom and also to connect and make new friends

20. What’s the meaning behind the name of your blog?

Lulu is my third name given to me by husband (means remarkable and wonderful), and I love it. POV means ‘point of view.’ These names suggest to my reader’s the content shared on my blog will be based on my point of view and personal experience.

21. Favorite Quote/saying?

When life gets blurry, adjust your focus.

22. Favorite Color?

Blush Pink and Mint

To Conclude…

One thing I love the most about South Africa is how diverse the country is especially how different people are even though we all come from the same country. Traveling around as much as I do, especially in Asia most of these places, the people all look the same or have distinct features and they all have the same culture within the country with smaller differences here and there.

Here in South Africa, it’s a melting pot of people culture and language. Being back and seeing this diversity again is so beautiful and something we should all celebrate more. Even just getting to know Futhi through this exercise shows how worlds apart we are and getting to know different people is something I feel is such a blessing.

When I close my eyes and picture heaven I see a melting pot of different people all living together in harmony. Something I wish we can recreate on earth and I am willing to start doing that by showing more love and kindness to all those God places in my path.
