Musical Monday- Ian Eastwood

This weeks Musical Monday post is dedicated to Ian Eastwood. He’s not a singer  but he’s a dancer. I am surrounded by talented dancers all the time since Courts is a dancer and I help out with her Dance Academy (Out of Africa Dance Academy)

There’s  something magical about a dancer when you can see there passion displayed in such a form, you become part of it. Courteney introduced me to Ian Eastwood and I started watching his dance videos on  YouTube and was completely blown away by his craft, of speaking to us through his choreography.

What stands out for me is that, this guy is not just a dancer like everyone out there. Even though I don’t know him and most of the people who watch him don’t know him, but that’s the beauty of music and dance. It is such a universal language that speaks to everyone, at any time and going through any situation. His style of choreography is breathtaking and he may not be the best dancer ever but his got that spark.

His messages to his fans and viewers in his description box is very heartfelt. Watch this video below and then read  the message beneath it. This really stood out to me as it displayed Ian’s character in more ways than  just what you see. It is so easy to envy other people and wish to become them, without knowing what they are going through behind the scenes. Everyone is special the way they are for a reason! Embrace you for who you are and remember nobody is perfect!

Ian Eastwood inspired me I hope he can inspire you!

Hey there everyone,

Just wanted to start by saying I know that it’s been awhile since my last post back in January and I’m sorry for the delay but I have been going through quite a lot in my life through the past few months and I needed to make sure the next video I posted was absolutely perfect and as impactful as humanly possible.

There are so many meanings to this piece but mainly I am releasing it on my birthday as my gift to all of you who have been there for me throughout the years on youtube, helping to make so many things in my life possible. I have been posting videos for 7 years now and I have so many people to thank, but believe it or not, if you’re watching this video or have told someone about me, I want to thank YOU.I also want to take a moment to explain one of my other reasons for releasing this piece –and that is to inspire. For this video I NEEDED to not only show my gratitude, but at least try and make an impact on all of YOU who have made such an impact on my life. Like I said, a lot of things have happened to me in the past few months causing a bit of my own identity crisis & insecurity…so whether you look up to me or look down on me always remember that everyone is human and no one is invincible -including myself. And if you listen to the lyrics of this song-I am actually dedicating this video to everyone out there who needs to throw away their insecurity or identity crisis and embrace who you ARE because all of the imperfections, all the “little things” you have are what makes you YOU!

EMBRACE YOUR IMPERFECTIONS AND FEEL FREE TO SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS IN THE COMMENT FEED BELOW.

I AM TOO LANKY

I AM TOO SKINNY

I HAVE A BIG BIRTHMARK ON MY LEFT SHOULDER

I HAVE CLAMMY AND SWEATY HANDS

I HAVE A SCAR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY HEAD

I HAVE HAIRY LEGS

MY NOSTRILS FLARE WHEN I DANCE (HAHAHAHA FALL VIDEO)(just to name a few…)

I AM NOT PERFECT.

—and neither is anyone else…nor should anyone try to be…don’t aim for perfection in life but aim for the purity of your identity, and hopefully the rest will follow. Always keep your chin up no matter who or what gets you down. Always follow your dreams and eventually you will find your destiny.

THIS is what I LOVE to do…and I can proudly say this is WHO I AM.

I hope you guys enjoy it.

Thank you for everything.

xxx
