Ahhh, Paradise where do I begin, at the beginning rightfully so lol. Boxing Day we woke up at 5 to get to the airport by 630am for our flight out of Bangkok and to Phuket. We were spending 7 nights in Patong. This area is known as the red light district of Phuket, but we had no idea what was in store for us.
We arrived and the weather was sunny and warm. We spoke to a tour operator as we waited for our bags. Me being in charge of tours we had a clear idea of what we wanted to do.
Our List (in no particular order)
1. Elephant Trekking
2. Island hopping
3. Show of some sort
4. Touch a tiger
5. Party
6. Beach
7. Swim
8. Snorkel
9. Boat ride
10. Explore
11. Shop
12. Light lanterns
13. Make Friends
14. Thai Massage and Beauty treatments
I can say with great excitement that we completed everything on that list and more.
We booked an apartment for the week. The place is called Sunset Apartments. We loved it and looked exactly like the pictures we had seen online. We used bookings.com for all our hotel bookings and flew in using Air Asia and got good deals.
It was our first time traveling to Thailand, and we went during peak season so we were sceptic to not book a place to stay before we arrived. That’s why we booked this place, but it was not cheap.
Tip: If you want value for your money it is cheaper to find something when their or book one night and then plan the rest of the trip as you go. (Our plan for next trip)
The landlord( I feel so bad for not remembering his name) I referred to him as Mr. Chow from the Hangover lol. He was so friendly took us on a drive around the little town showed us where everything was and was always available for helping.
On our way to our place, our driver took us to a travel agent, and we booked trips for the next few days. Our plan was to do a trip one day then rest the next day. So the next day, we planned the Island hopping tour and over the next few days we would do Adventure Trip, Phuket Phantasea show and a trip to Phi Phi.
Our first day we walked the streets checked out the beach, the mall and went for Thai massages to ease us into the adventurous week. The Thai massage was so good, just thinking about it makes me want to go back right now.
The evening we walked down the infamous Bangla road where we spent most nights. It is so crazy people everywhere clubs and bars everywhere. Every person is trying to get you into a ping pong show or pursued you to go into their bar. It does get much, and you just have to walk away. We met some awesome people just walking down the streets. We met 3 Israeli guys they were awesome, and we ended up chilling with them most of the night, at a bar called tiger. We had many drinks and loads of fun laughing and dancing. It was one of those random unexpected nights’ best ways to kick off the holiday vibes.
Hope your enjoying these Thailand Adventure Tales, please let me know in the comments and if you have any questions about anything, planning a trip, etc. we did this trip all by ourselves so happy to help where I can.
Next week’s installment will be about our Island hopping, speed boat, snorkeling tour so please come back for that.
Peace love & Happiness
