Fighting for the TV Remote is so last Year!

If you read my YouTube Addiction posts (here) you will know I follow the YouTube community rather closely as I find the space extremely fascinating. Since I got  a laptop a few years back TV disappeared as I watch all movies  and series from my Laptop and fighting for the remote is so last year. I then discovered YouTube, which is ultimately my new TV.

These YouTube stats blew me away….

  • More than 1 billion unique users visit YouTube each month

  • Over 6 billion hours of video are watched each month on YouTube—that’s almost an hour for every person on Earth, and 50% more than last year

  • 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute

  • 70% of YouTube traffic comes from outside the US

  • YouTube is localized in 56 countries and across 61 languages

  • According to Nielsen, YouTube reaches more US adults ages 18-34 than any cable network

  • Millions of subscriptions happen each day, and the number of people subscribing has more than doubled since last year

VidCon 2013 took place this past weekend.  VidCon is a video conference bringing creators and viewers together.

VidCon is for anyone and everyone who loves online video: Independent creators, enablers, viewers, and supporters of all kinds. Online video revolutionizes the ways we entertain, educate, share, and communicate. The creators attending and on-stage at VidCon lead that revolution. The best part is, we’re having the time of our lives doing it

Following the happenings at VidCon this year,I came across something cool that Shay Carl (American Vlogger and YouTube Personality) is doing. He is currently developing a documentary called Vlogumentary  on a $200,000+ budget that was funded with an Indiegogo campaign. At this years Vidcon on the main stage he launched the official trailer of Vlogumentary.

When I watched the trailer it made me so excited. As it completely summed up the way I feel when watching various Vlogs (video blogs). All the questions I ever wanted answered will sure be covered in this documentary. (cannot wait to watch it)

Courteney and I had a chat about actually doing more videos for her YouTube channel on Sunday during sister bonding time lol. The main thing I feel it will help her with is her confidence within herself I love the creative space so filming and even appearing in a video sounds scary but to help her and be her motivation I will conquer my fear too. (what are sisters for lol)
